How to Set Up Your Stripe Account
Before You Begin: Account Verification Required
Prior to setting up your Stripe account, you must complete your profile and be verified by the OceanMingle team. Verification ensures the security and trust of our tipping platform for all passengers and crew members.

Complete Your Profile
Navigate to Profile → My Profiles and fill in all required information including your personal details, recent voyage information (cruise line, ship, role, contract dates, and departure port).

Submit Verification Documents
In the Update Profile section, scroll to the Crew Verification area. Select your certificate type and attach the required document.

After submitting, your status will show Pending Review while the OceanMingle team verifies your documents.

Wait for OceanMingle Verification
The OceanMingle team will review your submitted documents and verify your crew status. You'll receive a notification once your account is verified. During this time, the Stripe Account section will display:
"Complete your account verification to unlock this feature."

Create Your Stripe Account
Once verified by OceanMingle, the Stripe Account section becomes available. Click to create your Stripe account, you'll be redirected to Stripe's secure website where you'll provide:
- Personal or business information
- Email address and phone number
- Bank account details for payouts
- Identity verification documents
Important: Ensure all information is accurate. Incorrect details may delay your ability to receive tips.

Return to OceanMingle
After completing the Stripe setup, return to the OceanMingle app. Your account status will update to either:
Enabled
Restricted

Complete Stripe Verification (if required)
If your status shows Restricted, Stripe may need additional verification. Follow the prompts to complete this process. Once verified, your status will change to:
Verified
🎉 You can now receive tips from passengers!
Bonus: Family Account Linking
Once verified, you can also link up to 2 family accounts to enjoy unlimited messaging with your loved ones while at sea!
For Passengers
How to Send a Tip to a Crew Member

Open the Tips Section
Navigate to Profile → Tips to access the tipping feature.

Search and Select a Crew Member
Browse or search for the crew member you'd like to tip.Note: Only verified crew members with payment enabled will appear in the list.

Add a Feedback Message (Optional)
Write a personal message to accompany your tip. Let the crew member know what you appreciated about their service!

Choose Your Tip Amount
Select from preset amounts or enter a custom tip:

Toggle Anonymous Tipping (Optional)
Enable the Anonymous toggle if you prefer to keep your identity private. The crew member will receive the tip without seeing your name.

Confirm and Complete Payment
Review your tip details and tap Confirm. You'll be directed to Stripe's secure payment page to complete the transaction.

Payment Success!
Once the payment is processed, you'll see a confirmation message. The crew member will be notified of your generous tip!

No Card Details Stored
Your payment information is never stored on OceanMingle servers. It goes directly to Stripe.
